Hi! I’m Lee Mitchell and this is Casey and Nikia. You can find us any morning at 7:00 a.m. doing our pre-working day hike at Franz Lake.

My dogs keep me outside rain or shine, exploring one back road after another, climbing rocks and taking in the magnificent mountains we call home.

I moved to the majestic mountains of Colorado from the flatlands of Florida almost nine years ago hoping to contribute to the growth and prosperity of the region.

You might say I am “Board Savvy”, having served on boards in the past. This honor has given me the knowledge of how to be effective in a public service team situation. I am an active and licensed realtor at United Country Premier Brokers, having obtained my original Brokers license in 1983. In 1999, I founded Lee Mitchell Homes, Inc. in Crestone, Colorado successfully building over 17 energy efficient homes in eight years. I drew upon my background as a Sales Manager for custom builders for 20 years and as a construction superintendent.

I am familiar with the many issues that come up for business and property owners having served on the Baca Grande Property Owner’s Association Board for 5 years. In the past I also worked with county issues serving as a member of the Saguache County School Board for over two years. I believe my strong organization; negotiation and presentation skills would be an asset in assisting the Salida Chamber of Commerce to move ahead on important growth and policy issues.
